God Always Exceeds Our Expectations: A Testimony of Transformation and Restoration
Life is shaped by emotional wounds and deficits that mark our perspective of the world. Growing up without the comfort of a present father can lead us to interpret life through pain and need. This was my case, and after numerous disappointing experiences a transformative encounter changed my life: Jesus knocked on my door to give my existence a new purpose and reveal an identity I had never known.
At the age of 22, I embarked on an intense search for God. My enthusiasm was so great that I went to an extreme where I tried to satisfy all of my “spiritual” needs. However, I didn’t understand that as tripartite beings—spirit, soul, and body—we need to address all areas of our lives holistically. This imbalance led to years of frustration, even as a spiritual leader in my church. In my heart, I felt there had to be more: I wasn’t happy, I didn’t feel fulfilled, and I didn’t know my purpose. In truth, I didn’t know myself.
The Answer Arrived: APS and Understanding My Temperament
After years of confrontation with God through prayer, fasting, tears— He revealed an answer to me through the APS (Arno Profile System). When I took the Creation Therapy course and understood my temperament, it was as if a veil was lifted from my eyes. It was the answer to the questions I had asked for so many years. I discovered that many of my emotional dysfunctions were due to neglecting the needs of my soul.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, “May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” This passage illuminated my understanding that God calls us to live in complete balance. Neglecting one part of our being leads to dysfunction, something I learned to correct thanks to the APS.
A Four-Step Restoration Process
Through the APS, my healing guided me to use this knowledge to help others through a four-step process:
Know Myself: Discover who I am beyond the wounds and masks developed through trauma.
Understand Myself: This knowledge brings clarity and answers to the "why's" that have shaped us.
Accept Myself: By understanding myself I can begin to accept myself, recognizing the beauty God placed in me and moving past the negative.
Love Myself: I can now truly care for myself, set boundaries, and prioritize my well-being. Only by loving myself with healthy and balanced love can I love my neighbor.
Jesus stated it clearly in Matthew 22:37-39: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” To love others, we must first love ourselves, and this begins with knowing ourselves. This is where the APS plays a vital role in the healing process that leads us to live our purpose in fullness and abundance.
A New Mission: Serve and Equip
Today, I not only live in balance and functionality, but I also have the privilege of serving as a Christian Clinical Counselor and training others in the field of Christian counseling as a Certified Academic Institution with the NCCA. To date, I have conducted over 2,300 APS evaluations, helping people discover their true identity and take responsibility for their healing process.
God always exceeds our expectations. I feel blessed to live in freedom and to have found the divine purpose for my life. Today, I serve with love, passion, and gratitude, bringing hope and restoration to others through the knowledge of their identity in Christ. I bless the SACC, the NCCA, and Drs. Arno for being instruments of God in my process and that of hundreds of others.
The APS is not just a tool but a divine gift that leads us to live in fullness and abundance. As tripartite beings, we are called to care for our spirit, soul, and body to glorify God and fulfill His will. God always exceeds our expectations!
